What’s happening?
James and Lea are off to “honeymoon” in Africa!!
What’s this B to ZZ stuff, haven’t you used that joke before https://europez2a.com/?
No!…ok well kind of!!…but this time we’re travelling from Botswana to Zambia!!
But why the extra Z?!
The extra Z is because we’re also going to ZZimbabwe.
And what’s that extra Z for?
Ah…sorry…that’s a typo!
Why Africa?
Why not?? Don’t you want to go to Africa?? No? Oh ok fair enough, I’ll explain. We’re heading back to Victoria Falls for the wedding of Scott and Katherine. Scott’s African. So I hope that clears everything up.
Sounds amazing! Won’t several of these newly married friends also be having a real honeymoon over there? Do you feel like you’re kind of stealing their thunder a little??
Yes! But do they have blog?!?! Maybe…I haven’t checked.
Ok cool. But wait…didn’t you guys just have your honeymoon?
Mmm hmm! James and Lea are really taking the piss now…off on another honeymoon in the 3rd calendar year of their marriage.
We’ll be following what is (should be) known as the “Malaria Line” through southern Africa, but don’t worry! James will be taking his reliable, sacrificial Lea to take the brunt of the mossies. However, he will still be doing his best to keep the G&T levels up to stave off the dreaded infection, whereas Lea has splashed out on the latest psychotic prophylactics (that’s a thing) and assuming she doesn’t run out of our tent into the middle of the jungle after a crazy dream I’m sure we’ll both come home safely…
So follow us as we eat, drink, drive, fly, safari, cruise, mokoro and walk our way through the Okavango delta, Chobe, Hwange, Victoria Falls and the Lower Zambezi and see Africa from B to Z (and then Z)!

Are you taking the pith??? March 23, 2016 - We’re currently the most overdressed people at Perf international (a feat that’s difficult to achieve…unless of course you wear sleeves made from anything other than ink) as we’d hoped to fool the check-in staff to think we’re cultured enough to get an upgrade. Well…holy crap, the full moon or maybe the sacrifice of our Saviour … Continue reading Are you taking the pith???
Good Maun-ing from Botswana!! March 25, 2016 - Here we are, less than one full day in Africa and we already feel at home thanks to the beautiful people everywhere. But it’s not a surprise as, according to Merryl Streep, “we’re all Africans really…?” Really. As soon* as we arrived we were whisked away on our first game drive. A lovely first glimpse … Continue reading Good Maun-ing from Botswana!!
Scorpion 1, Scorpio 0 March 28, 2016 - After an amazing day with the elephants, we had left any further expectations of the Delta at the door…imaginary door…there are not doors or gates. But our subsequent game drives included: hyenas including their babies as we raided their den after dark…while they chewed on the front of the vehicle (we assume the Japanese at … Continue reading Scorpion 1, Scorpio 0
There’s no road kill in Africa March 30, 2016 - After an incredible experience in the delta, including numerous sightings and two near death experiences we arrived in Chobe where we quickly informed our guide he had his work cut out to top what we’d just experienced. He didn’t seem worried. We shared our guide and vehicle with a brother and sister (in their forties) … Continue reading There’s no road kill in Africa
Two grand old ladies April 5, 2016 - We finally made it to ‘Babwe. The scene of the event we’ve been waiting for, the wedding of Scott and Katherine. A country of such generous people that not only was I offered an exchange rate of ZIM$250 billion to US$2, I was quickly given twice as good a rate just because it was my … Continue reading Two grand old ladies
James and the giant….flying ant?? April 7, 2016 - We left Vic Falls for Zambia, and only 9 short hours later we made it to our camp. After hearing so many times that we’d be leaving “just now” it made me wonder whether my iPhone is actually taking the piss out of me. When it shows emails “updated just now”, does it mean “now … Continue reading James and the giant….flying ant??
